Let me tell you about my friend Fitty. I've owned a fitbit since late 2014, the charge HR to be exact. I wore it every single day, all day, even throughout my workouts. I loved that it tracked my steps, heart rate, sleep, calories burned, and it doubled as a watch as well. It helped me lose a lot of weight when I synced it with the myfitnesspal app. I would put the food and amount into myfitnesspal, and depending on how many calories I burned from my fitbit, it told me how much more food I could eat for the day. I dropped about 20 pounds. However I went through two of those fitbits in two years because the ribbing on the band would detach from the fitbit. I stopped using the fitbit charge HR in early 2017 because of this issue. I recently went to target and purchased the fitbit charge 2, which is a newer version. It tracks your steps, heart rate, sleep, calories burned, gives notifications on when to get up and walk, and acts as a watch. It is like the charge HR that I used to own, except the bands are interchangeable! This is perfect because I was so annoyed with how the charge HR band would break within months of use. If the bands on the charge 2 broke as well, at least you could buy a new band instead of a whole new fitbit. I wear this fitbit every day, even when I sleep, through workouts, etc and I love it! It's a great way to get into shape, or just to know how much calories you burn per day. It's a lot more accurate than that health app on the iphone. This is what it looks like on my wrist. I have extremely tiny wrists so it looks huge in this picture, but it's actually not bulky. Yes that says my resting heart rate is 57.
If you are looking to buy one and get more into fitness, I highly suggest this fitbit over any other.

Instead of going to the gym and doing the stair master, my boyfriend and I decided to go running at War Memorial Stadium. When we did run consistently, we would run a lap, go up and down the stairs, do another lap, go up and down the next stairs, etc. Since we haven't been running consistently, we decided to run a lap, do two stairs, and then run another lap. We ran a total of 3 laps. We even took a little break in between running to say hello to the stray cats. Jarren loves cats, but he's allergic to them. When we were done running I was completely dead! We didn't really walk throughout this workout besides seeing the cats. Every time we got to the top of the stairs I had to catch my breath! I couldn't have been THAT tired because Jarren suggested doing suicides on the football field. We both began running from the beginning to the next line, back to the beginning and the next next line, etc. At one point, Jarren tried to race me because he started later than I did, and gave up! He was too tired, but I kept going and finished until he 30 yard line. I really enjoyed todays cardio! It's nice to be outdoors rather than in a gym doing cardio. Time goes by a lot quicker when doing cardio outside. After we were done, I grabbed my gatsby sheets and wiped myself down! I swear these sheets are a lifesaver especially when you're sticky and can't shower right away. Total game changer. A must for gym goers. Thank you for coming on this fitness journey with me!
I've been struggling a lot with motivation for the past month. This has been the first week back in the gym and I'm loving it! It helps me feel better and gets rid of my anxiety. Today I focused on my favorite thing to work out: LEGS! What girl doesn't love working out legs! I love thick thighs and a big booty. Here are some of my leg day essentials. First thing is the leg press. I usually do one plate (45lbs) on each side to warm up. I'll gradually go up to five plates on each side and man do my thighs burn! Today I only did three plates on each side because my legs were still sore from a leg day a few days ago. Next is squats! Even though I can leg press a lot, I definitely can't squat a lot. I'll do one warm up set with 25lbs and gradually go to 45 pounds on each side. I'm still trying to work on my form and not do that "butt wink". I usually do three or four sets with my boyfriend being my spotter just in case I fail. I also take off my shoes while doing squats so I can feel myself on my heels more and push through my butt. I love working on my hamstrings and this is one of my favorite hamstring exercises! I use 30lb dumbbells and go as low as I can to feel my hammies while attempting to keep my legs straight. The secret is to push your hips back rather than to just bend with your back. This burns! My number one workout for leg day is this outer thigh machine. Usually I'll sit with my butt completely on the seat and do light weight but high reps, or start off at 40lbs and make my way up to 10lbs doing dropset. Sometimes I'll even put it to a higher weight like 80lbs and sit off of the seat to do this. It really burns your outer butt area and it feels AMAZING. Definitely something I do every leg day. The last thing I did today was the stairmaster. I'll usually do about 15-20 minutes on level 8 either at the beginning or at the end of my workout. Today I chose to do it at the end. #30minutestairgang This is not all I do for leg day, but these are my ESSENTIALS. I like to split my leg days to two days per week, one day quad and calf focused, and the other hamstring and glute focused. I will post more of my workouts soon. Hope you enjoyed my leg day! By the way, I recently bought the red leggings from Victorias Secret, the knockout tight. They were on sale for $40 and I had a gift card from a while ago so I decided to buy it. I highly do NOT recommend these leggings if you are a heavy sweater like me. By the end of my workout, my crotch area and some of my butt area had sweat showing through. Another thing I noticed is it has a line going right across where your butt crack is. This line makes your butt look very flat! I will probably not wear these to the gym ever again, but I will wear them for leisure or if I travel somewhere cold. |
