We kicked off December with a very fun Christmas party! My boyfriends friends girlfriends family hosted a big party which had games, prizes, karaoke, and amazing food. The decorations were simple, yet so festive..especially the inside of their house! One of the first games were guess how many jingle bells were in the boxes. It was so tricky and so hard to tell how many bells there were in each box, especially when other people are trying to figure out other boxes. Luckily, Jarren got all the answers correct so he won a prize! Of course I chose for him, bath and body soap! My boyfriend and I also challenged each other to a relay game. First you had to blow two Christmas cards off the table. Once you did that, you stand on a chair and get three candy canes to land on the garland thats tied between two chairs. After completing that, you run over to the buckets filled with huge marshmallows and get five inside the other bucket. He beat me, of course because I couldn't get the marshmallows into the bucket! I don't have a pictures, but make sure to watch vlogmas on my Youtube tab! It was also my first time gambling! Each of us put $3 in and played left, right, center (I think that's what its called). Such a perfect first timer gambling game. I didn't win, but it was so fun! I had a lot of fun at this Christmas party and I'm so glad we went. My boyfriend and I were the most festive, and I felt over dressed with my ugly Christmas sweater. Make sure to watch vlogmas here!

Something very exciting happened today! My new sigma 30mm f1.4 lens came in! I'm so excited to use this lens to take pictures with! I originally wanted the sony 35mm lens, but after watching TechnologyMafia's video reviewing the two lenses, I decided on the sigma because it's sharper and cheaper. I didn't just get the lens with my purchase, it came in a bundle! On Amazon the lens itself was about $329, but the bundle I got was $339 so I thought why not! It came with a bunch of useful stuff for an amateur like me, including the lens. The bundle came with: -a mini tripod -a monopod -cleaning supplies for the lens -microfiber cloth -lens case -filters -sling backpack for extra lenses/batteries/cameras/etc -the lens It's so worth it! Buy the bundle by clicking here! I'm not gonna lie, the lens is pretty heavy and bulky compared to my little sony a5100. The quality of the lens however, is beautiful! It gives such beautiful bokeh. Here are some sample images I took of my Christmas tree ornaments! I'm going to learn how to use this lens for the next few days, and take videos with it as well! Until then, enjoy these random pictures with this lens! None of these pictures have any type of color correction. This past Thanksgiving was a very food filled one! I had three different parties to go to! But before all those parties, I went to the gym and did cardio for thirty minutes! The first party was at my boyfriends moms house for lunch. She stayed away from the traditional turkey, mashed potatoes, etc and instead made dry mein, korean pancake, hamburger steak, rice, egg rolls, and trifle for dessert. It was DELICIOUS! I was so stuffed by the end of lunch I already knew I wasn't going to eat too much throughout the rest of the day. One party down, two more to go. The next party was at my aunty's house, which we go to every year ever since I was a baby. Now all my cousins that are close in age with me have their own kids running around the house. It's just so crazy to see how fast time flys! My aunty's house always has the best food. There was turkey, mashed potatoes, salmon, gandule rice, korean fried rice, deviled eggs, hot dogs, spring rolls, too much to mention! Don't even get me started on the dessert table. Since I was still stuffed from lunch, I nibbled at some food while making sure my niece behaved. She didn't want to sit and eat, kept coloring on other people's drawings, going behind the couch and grabbed pictures off the shelves. Oh man was she a handful! She even started slapping an aunt that you don't mess with AT ALL. My aunt also started slapping Gianna back which was hilarious, but I also stopped Gianna because I know this aunt will spank her haha. The last and final party was my mom's house. I was so full at this point that I didn't eat and just chilled with everyone there. My niece loved her little cousins and wanted to stay by them every second, it was so cute! After this, my boyfriend and I went black Friday shopping. I didn't buy anything, but my boyfriend got some deals on new work boots and new work socks (5 pairs for $4!). You know you're getting old when you buy things you need for work or for the house rather than clothes and toys. Hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving with loved ones! Now it's time to get rid of this turkey weight! I have zero pictures for this because I was freaking out in the moment. Of course I wasn't thinking about pictures!
November 7, 2017 I experienced my first ever panic attack. Here's what happened that led up to the event. At around 2pm I went to the gym for the first time in weeks. I had a "bang" energy drink for the first time since I've started my chemo treatments. After the gym, I didn't really drink a lot of water or eat anything. I went back to work. Around 6:00pm my boyfriend came to pick me up from work. We went to foodland because I was going to make us spaghetti for dinner, but I really wanted cheese and garlic bread. As we were driving I felt very nauseous, thinking it was because I haven't eaten anything since lunch (11:30am). I got a rice krispy from foodland as well as the other items I needed. On the way home, I ate half the rice krispy. I still felt nauseous and I began to have a headache on the back of my head. We got home at around 6:30pm. I had just put a pot of water to boil on the stove and asked my boyfriend to get the spaghetti box out. All at once I felt extremely light headed, like I could feel the oxygen not going to my brain. I felt my heart beating way too fast and I could breathe properly. I told my boyfriend that something was wrong with me and that I needed to get to the hospital. I walked to the car and I remember it being blurry and I was just panicking. I literally thought I was going to die. On the way to the hospital, I stuck my head out of the car to try and calm down. It helped a lot. When we got to the hospital, they checked me in and I was shaking a lot. My blood pressure was very high and my heart rate was up at 90bpm. My normal resting heart rate is between 55-60bpm. They put me into a room and started an IV and took blood samples. I told them how I was feeling, and at some points while talking, I couldn't breathe which made me freak out even more. A nurse came in and put a heart monitor on my chest, and another nurse did an EKG to make sure I wasn't having a heart attack or an arrhythmia. The doctor finally came in and asked if I wanted something to calm me down, and I agreed. He said everything looked normal and I was probably just having a panic attack. The nurse gave me the medicine through IV to calm me down, which kicked in super quick! We were at the hospital for about three hours. When we finally left, we got something to eat. I didn't really eat much because I was super tired from the medicine. The next day, I still felt jittery and my heart rate still felt like it was super high. I had a headache in the back of my head all day and I felt like at any moment, I could have another attack. I went to see a doctor and she prescribed anti anxiety medication. It honestly felt like I was going to die and I'm so glad it was just a panic attack. I can't tell what is a side effect to my treatment or if there's something actually wrong. In this case, I think what set me off was the energy drink and not having any water to drink for four hours after that. It's the scariest thing when you don't know what's going on with your body. My niece, Gianna, loves the movie "Trolls". I decided that she should be Poppy for Halloween! My sister, boyfriend, and I also dressed as characters from the movie "Trolls". I did not take pictures of every single step. Here's how I did it: You will need: elastic (or head band wrap for babies) colored tulle scissors cardboard green pipe cleaners plain blue dress (or oversized blue shirt) blue foam felt green felt (or white felt) green spray paint (if using white felt) fabric glue Step 1: Make the troll hair a. Measure the elastic around your head to what's comfortable for you, then tie the elastic into a knot. b. Get cardboard (or anything sturdy) and measure how long you want your tulle to be. Once you get the measurement, cut the cardboard to the desired length. In my case, the adult troll hair measured at 19.5 inches and Gianna's hair measured 12.5 inches. I had two separate cardboard for each length. c. Wrap the tulle around the cardboard as many times as you need. If you want only half of an adult head to be covered, you only need one roll of tulle. Two rolls of tulle should cover the entire head. Cut the tulle on each end of the cardboard so you get double the amount. d. Wrap the elastic around the cardboard so it stretches. Take one piece of tulle and tie it to the elastic. Keep repeating this step until you are satisfied or until the elastic is completely covered. Tie the tulle with another strand of tulle to keep the "hair" standing up. Option: I made Gianna's troll hair on a plain headband wrap I found at WalMart. I thought it would be more comfortable for a baby to wear a head wrap rather than elastic. Step 2: Poppy's Headband a. Measure out the pieces of green pipe cleaners to only half the headband. If you wrap it all the way around the headband, the headband will not stretch! b. Glue the pieces of green pipe cleaner onto the headband with the fabric glue. I used two small pieces so it would cover the headband. c. Cut out flowers on blue foam felt that resemble Poppy's headband. I only cut out three. Glue those pieces onto the green pipe cleaner with the fabric glue. Step 3: Poppy's Dress a. Get a plain blue dress, or oversized blue tank top. b. If you are using white felt, spray paint the white felt green and leave it outside to dry. Then continue with this process. c. Draw an outline of the design of Poppy's dress onto the green felt. It kind of looks like a squiggly line but with more of a mountain shape, if that makes sense. I also cut out the pieces for the flowers that goes over every hump of the "mountain". d. Once you are satisfied with the outline, cut it out. e. Take the cardboard to place in between the front and back part of the dress or tank top so it won't stick together when we start gluing. f. Take your outline cut out and glue it to the bottom of the dress or tank top, all around. Also glue the "flowers" over the humps or a little to the side if they are too big (like mine). g. Leave to dry overnight. It all comes together!
I was honestly surprised that it turned out so well! I got her a long sleeve pink shirt and pink leggings to match the pink "skin". The troll hair was also a lot better when we first started the night. After a while she would pull off the hair and it got very messy! She's the cutest little troll I've ever seen!
I tried the Tsururi Point Clay Pack that I got from Japan last night, so I thought I'd give it a little review!
First of all, I put too much product on my nose. All you need is about a dime size squirt and it will cover your nose with a thin layer. About five to ten minutes later, it should dry and the color should change from brown to gray! You will also see little dots on your nose which means all your blackheads/whiteheads are coming out. It's like the glam glow mask that everyone seems to have nowadays. I should've taken a picture of Jarren's nose because he had LOTS of little dots and he did not apply as much as I did. After rinsing my face, my nose felt squeaky clean and smooth! I recommend this to anyone who has sensitive skin or can't handle a nose strip. I bought this in Japan and I think it works just as well as glam glow's mud mask at an affordable price. Click down below to buy on Amazon! There is no reason anyone needs to buy as much stuff as I did, unless they really did their research on cosmetics. In my case, I did TONS of research on the cosmetics I bought and the rest...well...I bought it just because I wanted to. I didn't include the little things like the charms, clothes for my niece, keychains, and food I got. I will go into detail for cosmetics and co-worker gifts. Lets see what I bought! Perfect WhipI've read so much on this face cleanser I knew I had to get it. Have you ever tired lancomes creme radiance facial cleanser? It's $50 that leaves your face feeling squeaky clean. Well Perfect Whip makes your face feel squeaky clean at a low cost of $4 (for a small bottle). I got this deal 10 bottles for $25 I believe. Hadalabo Gokujyun & Shirojyun When I did my research, I heard hada labo was one of the best cosmetic drugstore companies to use for moisturizing. The white bottle (gokujyun) helps with hydrating and the blue bottle (shirojyun) is supposed to help with whitening. I have bad hyper pigmentation on my cheeks so I can't wait to see what my results will be in 4 weeks! Detclear Bright &Peel Fruits Peeling Jelly I believe this is supposed to exfoliate and remove dead skin on a dry face. You're only supposed to use this 1-2 times per week. It makes my face feeling nice and smooth right after. After I use this, I use the Perfect Whip to cleanse my face and I feel rejuvenated! Perfect White Clay This is one of the products I have no idea what it does, BUT I've seen lots of people speak about this on videos. I decided to buy it to try out whatever it does. Tsururi I remember when I went to Japan last year, I tried the peel off mask on my nose and it was very hard to get off without water. The bottle on the left is a peel off, and the bottle on the right is clay. I think The bottle on the right is supposed to be something like glam glow's mask that makes dots on the areas where there's lots of sebum and you wash it off. Evita Beauty Whip Soap The only reason I bought this is because when you push the product out, it comes out as a flower shape! Suisai Beauty Clear Powder This tiny little box was about $20 USD. It comes with tiny individual boxes filled with powder to wash your face! It's meant for traveling, which is why I bought it. Unfortunately I was not able to try it on the plane ride home because I wasn't allowed to open the bag it was in until we left Japan. All you need to do is pour the powder onto your hands and mix a little water with it. It turns into an on the go facial cleanser! Whitening Face Mask I got two things from Japan that are focused on whitening. Not because I'm dark and I want to get lighter, but because I have hyper pigmentation on my cheeks that are very noticeable. I've never had anything like this on my face before, so I'm hoping this face mask will help do the trick. Tsubaki Oil Perfection Hair Oil Silicone Mask 2 Way Roihi-TsubokoThis is works like "icy hot" and will help with sore muscles and pain. I didn't use this specific brand while in Japan, but I've heard its one of the best shippu for pain. My back and calves hurt pretty often so I'm excited to give this a try! Muhi When I'd go to Japan as a child, my grandma would always bring this stuff back. Even when her sisters would visit from Japan, they would always bring this back for us. It's an anti-itch cream that works WONDERS! Whenever I have an ant or mosquito bite, I immediately put this on and it cools the itch. However, this product is illegal in America. Body Wipes I probably spent most of my money on these body wipes, mainly the Gatsby brand. These are mainly used in the summers in Japan for wiping off sweat and cooling down. Since It's summer year round in Hawaii and I sweat just by existing, I had to buy TONS of these. I bought about 12 packages of Gatsby wipes, two Seabreeze wipes and two Refresh wipes. My favorite is the Gatsby wipes because they leave your skin feeling menthol-y. Co-Worker Gifts
Extra Hope you enjoyed this huge haul! I've always loved exercising because it makes me feel so good and accomplished after. But I've been very unmotivated recently. I used to go to the gym seven days a week. This past week, I've gone to the gym maybe three times. The week before maybe twice. The point is I need to find my motivation again. So my friend, Rachel, asked me today how often I go to the gym. I told her that I haven't been going as much as I used to. After talking about working out, I decided to put on my yoga pants and jacket for a sweat fest at the gym. Trust me, I did not want to go at all. I was up from 7AM and had no naps! I just wanted to binge on Grey's Anatomy and get some saimin later. As soon as I got to the gym, I found $2 in the parking lot. I felt so good because I haven't found money in a LONG time. Yes, money is my motivation for everything even if it's just $2. I did 20 minutes on the stairmaster and was able to burn 200 calories and climbed 100 flights of stairs. I also did about 20 minutes of shoulder lifting that I haven't done in weeks! I wasn't planning on going to the gym tonight, but I am so glad I did. I'm $2 richer and a shoulder workout stronger! Today my boyfriend, boyfriends mom and I took my niece Gianna to the pumpkin patch in Kula. This was my second time going, and I only go to take my niece. First of all the view is absolutely amazing! It overlooks the entire island of Maui and there's pumpkins in the background! If you really wanted the picture to look like a basic fall picture, just wear boots, leggings and a sweater. It was way too hot and I don't own boots so a shirt, old navy shorts, and running shoes it was! The pumpkins are placed downhill of course on dirt and some little rocks. We didn't have Gianna's stroller so we held her hand to make sure she didn't fall. She is so active and loves running away any chance she gets. So when she let go of our hands and ran, she fell in the dirt and even tried to kick a pumpkin thinking it was a ball. We had to be very careful with her because there were thorns around some of the pumpkins, but you know Gianna... so energetic climbing on the pumpkins. Sometimes she can be so naughty. After looking at the pumpkins, we went to Rice Park to eat a bento my boyfriends mom made for us. It had rice, avocado, onion, eggs, nori, and tobiko. She said she learned to make it off a Korean show she watched and it was delicious! Gianna got to run around for a little bit before we took her back to her dads house. I'm only on season 5. Don't judge me.
Grey's Anatomy has been around for YEARS and I have never watched it until two weeks ago. I love watching shows like "Mystery Diagnosis" and "Untold Stories of the ER", basically whatever is on Discovery Health. I also love watching shows with a lot of love drama. Grey's Anatomy has two of my favorite things put into one! There's surgeries, fatalities, love, love triangles. I find myself rooting for one character in the medical aspect, and another character in the love aspect. My favorite character hands down is Izzie Stevens. She gets so involved and personal with her patients, which can be good and bad, like with what happened with Denny Duquette. After Denny, she fell in love with her best friend George, even though George was married to Callie. Izzie and George ended up not working out because their sex was bad. George told Izzie it's the wrong timing, but they are still best friends. I love them together! George and Callie were such a mistake; psh Callie O'Malley, really? My least favorite character is the main character, Meredith Grey. Meredith is following in her mothers footsteps to being a surgeon. She meets a neurosurgeon in the same hospital. They fall in love, then break up, fall in love, break up, and now they are in love again. It seems like they keep breaking up because Meredith doesn't want to let this guy in because her father left when she was a young girl. I still don't like her. I have A LOT to catch up on, 9 more seasons worth of catching up to do. But I highly recommend this show. I'll definitely be rambling on this as I get into it. |
